As a photographer, there is always this strive and desire to do more. Since growing in the wedding industry and finding my “happy place” with my editing style, it was finally time to plan my dream styled shoot. I have attended numerous styled shoots and while I have always learned and walked away with gorgeous images, there has always been something that I would have done differently. I have also always found enjoyment in decorating and party planning. Mesh all of those together, for a photographer, and you have a styled shoot!!
My bestie in biz, Kelsie and I decided to put our heads together and create the “dream shoot” from a photographers point of view and see what we could come up with. If you ask me, it was absolutely everything I have ever dreamed of!!
The vision we were trying to obtain was a luxurious southern classic-charm wedding. It consisted of peach, light pink and white color palate, with all the florals you could dream of! Once the mood was set, we then had to think of a venue that would compliment the vision. The Oxbow Estate was a no brainer. A drop dead gorgeous venue located in Clayton, NC with a classic, luxury feel. We truly could not have chosen anything better. After that, the vendor team fell right into place and wow, did we have the most AMAZING team. Each and every one of them saw our vision and ran with it. Every thought and detail Kelsie and I had envisioned came to life! It was such a pinch me moment!!
Our models, Madison and Jorgen, were nothing less than perfect. From head to toe, the looks for both of them were the luxury, yet whimsical vibe we both wanted. Their chemistry together was like they had known each other for years. Both together and apart, they made our photographer dreams come true!
When looking through these photos, it feels so surreal. I am living out all the dreams I have been envisioning. Through photographing luxury weddings, to being able to plan such a breathtaking shoot, that brings a community of vendors and other photographers together, with the same mindset. This may have been Kelsie and Is first time planning a styled shoot, but it sure will not be our last!!!
