I don’t even know where to start with this one of a kind wedding! From the minute I got there, to the moment I left, from every single moment and even down to the smallest details, it was obvious that this day was built on love. Holly and Patrick’s goal was to have a day that was not just put together but that was planned and constructed on everything that was special to them. This made it one of the most unique weddings I have had the opportunity to be apart of!
The venue is probably one of the most special parts. Patrick and Holly not only got ready in her parents home, but they also had their ceremony and reception on her family’s farm, right under a big oak tree. From the gorgeous fall trees surrounding the pond, to the rolling hills with cows and hay bales, they could not have chosen a more picturesque location.
Once it was ceremony time, Patrick and the boys arrived in her grandfathers old blue truck. The same blue truck we used in their engagement photos!
Patrick’s reaction to seeing his stunning bride for the first time is a face I will never forget. The joy was beaming from his smile and his eyes filling with happy tears. Another unique touch was their unity ceremony. Holly grew up showing cows and her family also raises them. For their unity ceremony, they branded the initial “C”, for Carter, on a piece of cow skin!!! How cool is that?!?
Not only was this day unique and special, but it was also SO FUN!! The laughs started as everyone was exiting the ceremony. Hollys dad took Hollys mom and did a dip kiss to mimic the bride and groom. It sure had everyone in attendance laughing!!
After some stunning bride and groom portraits out in the open fields, the reception kicked off. The thoughtfulness that was carried through the entire day did not stop either. When arriving to the reception, on the left sat the delicious cake that was made from scratch, by her sister. On the right was their favors to the guest. These favors made her photographer smile from ear to ear (hehe!). They had used their engagement photos and made a recipe book of all their favorite recipes! Holly and Patrick both love to cook and thought they would share some of their specialties with their guest! Once dinner was served and everyone danced the night away, Holly and Patrick then ended the night exiting in her grandfathers vintage car.
This is one wedding that will be hard to forget! I am so honored Holly and Patrick had me capture such a very special day for them. As always, I am so honored!
